Principal’s Message

Dear Michael Anderson School Parents, Students and Community Members,

A warm welcome to all of our returning families and to our new families who have enrolled at Michael Anderson School for the 24-25 school year. This year we prioritize our focus on a safe, healthy, caring, student centered environment where our students can enjoy “success without limits” and always hold close, our motto of “Dream Big & Work Hard!” We are proud to share our MAS Learning Dispositions (Insert Link) created by our students, families, teachers and staff. Additionally, we are in our 4th year as a “Leader In Me” school developing effective leadership habits and continuing with Rocket Academy, our 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant with after school programming engaging academics, enrichment and social emotional learning with students and families.

We are looking forward to supporting a safe, healthy and productive school year with high-expectations for every child. We value all of our families’ contributions to the success of our students and need your support in carrying out our school’s expectations, policies, procedures, goals, mission and vision.

As principal, I am very proud of our schools overall growth and achievement. We were proudly recognized as US News and World Report Best Middle School 2024. Our Michael Anderson teachers and support staff show great commitment to utilizing engaging teaching practices in our classrooms to challenge, motivate, inspire and empower all students. School staff is here to guide, grow and support every child. As a team, Mr. Williford, Assistant Principal and I, along with our outstanding staff continue to lead our school community by fostering an inclusive, equitable, collaborative and safe learning environment where every student can develop their “unlimited potential”. We are fortunate to have a full time counselor and social worker on our staff.

As a Leader In Me school, “Leadership” is evidenced, with the 8 Highly Effective Habits - we will be learning about: Habit 1: Be Proactive Habit 2: Begin With The End In Mind Habit 3: Put First Things First Habit 4: Think Win-Win Habit 5: Seek First to Understand & Then Be Understood Habit 6: Synergize Habit: 7: Sharpen The Saw Habit 8: Find Your Voice.

It is truly a privilege to be a part of the Michael Anderson School community.

Sincerely,

Lori Goslar, M.Ed
